About

My Story

I began capturing the world around me on film as a young teenager when my dad gave me an heirloom Canon SLR and a few rolls of film.  Over the last two decades, I've journeyed across the world and deep into the heart of the wild to capture images that tell the story of an astounding planet.  It’s my hope that these images both introduce people to the beauty of nature and help them to fall in love with it, bringing up a new wave of conservationists and stewards of our wild places, of the people and animals that inhabit them, and ultimately of ourselves.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, I now live with my wife, Kelly, in Seattle, Washington.  I take every chance I get to explore the endless peaks and valleys, beaches and forests, searching for stories to tell through my lens.  Be sure to check out my travel blog, Life in Tandem, for accounts of past adventures and photos.
